back from discouragement

Well I haven't been posting because I was so discouraged with my body. I thought I was doing well, eating better and exerciseing and then my weight started going up a pound a day. I thought maybe I was retaining water so I cut back on my salt intake but it still went up. I gained 5 pounds in a week. I knew that I couldn't be eating that many calories because of my MGB surgery but I was so bummed. I didn't want to post cause I couldn't take my ticker going backwards all in one week. So I just ignored everything and kept on doing what I was doing trusting that it would pass. I went out and bought and planted some flowering plants to cheer me up. Because of my age and the effects of surgery on my hormones I haven't had regular periods and was thinking I might be done with that but not so and three days after I started my period I dropped the 5 lbs I had gained plus another 1/2. So I will continue trying to eat right and exercise and look forward to a downward path.

Your blogs have really helped. I read them mostly on my phone which is harder to respond on. But all of you keep working on it and we will all be getting smaller.

Gail

  1. Thank you so much, Gail, for sharing your experience...It strengthens my resolve to "keep going"....This past weekend...was my FIRST real setback...but, strickly MY OWN FAULT...I gave in...to the weekend of the Valentine spirit...I gained "3" pounds...I didn't want to set my TICKER back, either...I thought...I would work EXTRA HARD...to make up for my "letting go" of my goals...I have almost RECOVERED...and hope by the end of the week...will experience a "loss"...I am SO GLAD, Gail, to hear...you are still trying hard...to reach your goal...
