Good Morning, Sisters...
The changes I made this week in my eating "habits" were as follows:
1. I only wanted to cut out ONE THING....I cut out my "refined" sugars. Haven't had REFINED sugars since January 1st. I thought I could handle that...I do use, however, RAW HONEY and STEVIA...for my "sweetning" of things.
2. I "eat" TWO MEALS and DRINK one meal...(most of the time) What I mean by DRINK...I make/or JUICE a FRESH RAW DRINK of some sort...and/or drink LOTS of HERB TEA...plus supplements (herb/vitamins/etc.)...I haven't been drinking a "protein type drink" yet....just FRESH JUICE...but, I will in the coming weeks....instead of FRESH JUICE for VARIETY...
3. I am trying to finish my LAST MEAL....as EARLY as possible...and then NO MORE eating AFTER that LAST MEAL...Haven't decided what would be a good CUT OFF TIME... I will have to make EXCEPTIONS due to ACTIVITIES...but, MOST of the TIME I can CONTROL the "TIME" I eat...
RESULTS: 4 pounds in 1 1/2 weeks...AGAIN, I want to maintain...the IDEA...ONE POUND a week...so...if I get a BONUS of an extra pound or two a week...then WONDERFUL....but, I don't want to get discouraged...if I don't see better results, like MORE than a pound a week...ONE POUND....should bring "contentment"....(smile)

I thought I'd already posted but don't see it on here. I'm so technologically impaired... So here it is again....
ReplyDeleteI lost 4.8 pounds in about a week and a half (but my turtle has already recorded 3 of those) so move him just one more pound for me. I'll put the fraction toward next week
I basically tried eating healthy (lots of fruits and vegetables and whole grains) and stayed away from sweets in the most part. We did have house-guests this weekend that brought me home made bisotti. Oh my goodness I didn't even know I loved biscotti. It is so crunchy and barely sweet-delicious and with cranberries in it. I made the mistake of wolfing one down and then the whole evening wanted more. I realized I need to try harder to do what Debbie mentioned that Caleb told her- eat slowly and enjoy each bite. I was up very late working on my Sunday School lesson and that biscotti kept calling me but I did not listen because I knew I had to weigh in for my report this morning. Buddy asked me after dinner today if I wanted some biscotti and I thought no- I'll have some this evening with some sugar free cocoa and take my time to savor every crumb.
I hope we all have a great week this week too! Sandee
I am sorry to say...I had no idea what "biscotti" was....so I had to go look it up on the internet...I THINK I have had some...Looked WONDERFUL...I can see why it would have been a "sacrifice" not to eat MORE...(smile)ENJOY your moment tonight...when you can relish...SLOWLY the wonderful taste...of a well-earned "treat"...for being so GOOD....Well DONE...for your first week's efforts!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell I have to say i was very sad this morning to get on the scale and see that my weight hadn't moved an ounce! I lost so much the first week i thought it would continue to come off. oh well I have been doing better though. I stopped eating out for lunch everyday and bringing something healthy instead. Ive also been bringing low calorie snacks so i dont cave in and reach for a candy bar. Planning in general is whats been working for me so when i get hungry i know exactly what to go to instead of the first thing that sounds good. I also had the work out of my life yesterday and now cant move but i feel good for doing it. I believe my mom and I will be tackling yoga next. Even though i didnt have good news today I will keep and going and hope my body is just taking longer to respond :) congrats to everyone for hard work paying off!!
ReplyDeleteJust remember, Haley...ONE POUND A WEEK...YOU are already a MONTH AHEAD OF SCHEDULE...(smile) Please, don't be disappointed...that is generally when...we "give up"...because we don't see a change "everyday"...ONE POUND A WEEK...at the end of the year..."52" POUNDS can be gone...YOU have been VERY SMART in PLANNING AHEAD...I like your IDEA...of having HEALTHY SNACKS AROUND...instead of those that would DEFEAT my goal...Looks like...I need to go to the HEALTH FOOD store...and get some of my favorites...to take care of those moments...when I am feeling VERY WEAK!!!! (smile)
ReplyDeleteNow, my turn. I will be real honest. I haven't started yet. I plan on doing the Flat Belly diet and it starts with four days that you must eat exactly what they say. I went shopping yesterday and got everything on the list except for cold pressed flaxseed oil (anyone know where I can get that?). I'm planning to start Tuesday morning. I really am excited, because this diet looks doable. Congrats to those who lost! I hope to join your ranks soon!
ReplyDeleteYou can get "cold pressed flaxsee oil" at most HEALTH FOOD stores...
ReplyDeleteHello Ladies(:
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like all had an eventful week with either weightloss or activities to reach that outcome. Hayley it sounds you have a great plan with making sure healthy snacks are around. That helps so much. No loss but be happy there was no gain either(: Congrats to us all. We can do it.
I have just started the New Year off doing the slim fast way. Really you get to eat more then I ever thought. It has been going pretty good but I know I need to really watch what I am doing or I can easiler over do it without even knowing it. I have been making sure we have more fresh fruits and veggies on hand and low calorie snacks. For dinner whatever but I only put it on a bread plate instead of even a salad plate. You would be surprized at how much you can still put onto a salad plate(:
This past weekend was my downfall I will admit. Hopefully I do too much damage for my weigh in this week. it was Adam mans 7th birthday. We had a great time together as a family.(:
ok I said a whole lot. I am excited for everyone and see what works for you and see if I can benefit from that aswell. I wish everyone a great week of healthy living and cant wait to see what the results will be next week. (: Have a super duper night(:
