The "Lymphoma Diet"

The title of this post is a bit disturbing, I know...but, that is what Garvin is currently calling his new lifestyle of eating...I, personally, would rather think of it in terms of the "Word of Wisdom" lifestyle...

"WISDOM"...As I begin to digest the concepts in the "Word of Wisdom"...I am marveling over Father's LOVE for us...in giving us HIS "counsel" on how to keep our bodies "healthy"...and "strong"...to "walk and not be weary"...

For instance...ever ponder over the idea of "eating in the SEASON, thereof"? Ever think about the CYCLE of our "gardens"? What kind of plants (food) come off in the SPRING? What kind of plants (food) come off in the SUMMER? What kind of plants (food) come off in the FALL? WISDOM....long "created" in cycles before we ever "entered this life"...

I am LOVING my new LIFESTYLE...though, I find I still CRAVE "CHICKEN" every day! GO FIGURE!!!! (smile)

Garvin has now lost "32" pounds...and I am shy of "15"...YES!!!!

  1. Yes I've spent some time pondering the W of W admonition to eat fruits and vegetables "in season". I think it is probably given because the most vitamins and nutrients are in the freshest fruits and vegetables. Back in the day fruits and veggies were preserved to be eaten out of season by being kept in a root cellar or canned in mason jars. Neither method could provide the kind of nutrients you get from eating something fresh from the earth that day.

In our day we can eat every fruit and veggie in every season. But of course most of our produce this time of year is shipped by air from Chile.

Cathy has a friend that owns and runs an apple orchard and she wouldn't think of eating an apple this time of year as they have been in cold storage since last fall.

It seems that the advice coming from most health food folks these days is that even if your choice is to eat organic or local you should choose local as it is the freshest and the most vibrant living food.

Of course (smile) Debbie I imagine your plan is to grow your own organic which would be the very very best!

I still can't figure out what to do about all the shade in our back yard. I've tried a garden 3 times but there is not enough sun. We do have our fresh eggs and have planted citrus trees in the sunny front yard. I would even consider a garden in the front but the high school bus stop is there and I think they would use the veggies for toss toys!

  2. Have you ever considered an "indoor" garden...? With "grow lights"? Is there a room in your home that you could "convert"? I think of all those who grow "marijuana" in their homes...and they always look "healthy" (smile)
